Projects - Modular Wall Systems

modular

DDS has worked closely with Fry Reglet Corporation to provide printed panels for their "Graph" wall system. Graph is a modular wall system that incorporates 1/2" thick panels into a grid. This is how Fry Reglet describes their system

"There are only three components to Graph. First, an aluminum framework that is engineered to your design. The second, surface panels of your choosing. Third, clips that attach the panels to the framework.

This innovative architectural wall finish system allows for limitless configurations, countless surface materials and minimal field labor."

DDS has supplied imaged panels for some of the most intriguing projects done to date with the Graph wall system. Select the projects for a complete description of the application:

Project: University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point
Location: Stevens Point, WI
Architect: Perkins and Will, Mineapolis, MN

The Four Seasons at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point: This project involved 5 graphic walls that lined both sides of the main concourse in the Dreyfus University Center at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. Each graphic wall was a composite of photographs of leaves common to the trees in the area. Each leaf was photographed and digitally assembled to form the graphic walls. There are 5 walls, and each wall contains the leaves of a particular season (2 walls for fall). The walls are all 6'- 4" high and they range in length from a little more than 11 feet to almost 20 feet long.

The walls are constructed with the "Graph" system by Fry Reglet on the face of the wall. The panel sizes varied from 10.75"x 13.5" to large 25.406"high x 52.75" long. Everything about this project is custom. The panel sizes, the walls and the images are unique to this project. The photography required a change of all 4 seasons, and the work on the walls had to wait for nature to complete its cycle.

The walls in the main concourse needed to be sturdy. There is a lot of traffic in the area, and students lounge around and against the walls. The Murerase surface is a hard surface and the imaging is not applied - it is a dye sublimation or heat transfer print that is integral to the surface coating of the panels. The Murerase panels are 1/2" thick MDF based panels with the special receptive/performance finish. The finish is available in gloss or satin. These panels are gloss and provide high resolution and brilliant, accurate color.
